Extend Out Your Hand
Ephesians 4:2: Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Imagine a husband at the front door of their home extending his hand out to his wife while they are separated. Saying “Babe, please come home.” Or a wife extending her hand out to her husband as they are working through newly defined roles and asking “Honey, what do you think?” What kindness. What compassion. What a gift!
Let's take a look at a few more examples and how this might look as we go through our day. Perhaps you extend a hand to help with the dishes, the lawn, or the children. Perhaps you extend a hand to take his/her mom to the doctor. Perhaps you extend your hand in comfort or to listen. Or perhaps you extend a hand to simply ask “How can I help you today?”
When we extend our hands we are offering a part of ourselves, a part of our heart. Sometimes in the busyness of life, we forget to extend out our hand to our partner in crime. If it’s been a while since you extended your hand to your spouse, look for places in your interaction with one another over the next week to do so.
It might be one of the greatest gifts you ever give one another!
Ya’ll have a beautiful day!
All My Love,
Jen
