Seeing God's Joy in Creation

Joy is so readily available in our world: a beautiful orange and purple sunrise, in the blooming hibiscus, a birdsong, or the glistening white snow…

It is not often we see snow in southwest Texas, so when we do it is usually a highly anticipated event. We spend most of the day outside taking it all in, no matter the cold. Though our daughters are grown, they love every minute of their time in the glistening goodness. During our last snow day, our oldest found delight in a 5 am trip outside to check on the glass of water that she left out the night before. Similar to the way small children check to see if Santa has eaten the milk and cookies on Christmas she came bounding down the stairs, but quietly opened the door to check. Though cold, the water in the glass had not completely frozen over. She was surprised by this fact and wondered how it could be cold enough for snow, but not cold enough to have frozen the water. The wonderment of God and how all things work together.

Lord, You are our greatest wonder. You have called us to be your own. In the midst of our day to day life our world can get lost on You. It’s moments like these, moments in the snow, in the cold and iciness that we are reminded that you never leave. You are a constant. An ever present help in the sign of trouble. Lord, thank you so much for the wonderment of our universe and how You make all things work together. Thank you Lord, for helping us to continue to grow in peace, trust, strength, and discipline. Have a beautiful day, God! Amen.

Ya'll have a beautiful day!

All My Love,

Jen
