Spots of Joy - Prayer for PTSD - Day 1

June is PTSD Awareness Month, and in 2019, Greg and I made the intentional decision to start our blog “Get Strong with Jen” to help promote healing for families affected by PTSD. What began as a simple step of faith has grown in ways we never could have imagined, opening doors for us to share our story with people we never dreamed we’d reach.
This journey has also sparked new interests we hadn’t anticipated. Greg has found joy in woodworking—designing pens and creating small, thoughtful projects for our family and friends. I’ve embraced writing wholeheartedly and have even begun self-publishing.
Pursuing these passions at our own pace has been one of the kindest things we’ve done for ourselves. There’s no pressure, no strict deadlines—just the freedom to follow where God leads, and to offer what we’re able with open hands.
As part of our blog, we’ve chosen to dedicate the month of June to prayer—for families living with PTSD to be strengthened with peace, trust, and discipline. Much of our work happens quietly—in conversations over coffee, in text threads, or during unexpected moments with others that naturally lead to sharing our story. Each time, we’re reminded how powerfully God works—often in the background, quietly transforming lives, including our own.
And, so we begin:
Lord, thank You for helping us walk with greater peace, trust, strength, and discipline. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but because it is fueled by Your Spirit of love, hope, and faith, we have found spots of joy along the way—reminders of Your presence and grace.
Thank You for this space where we can come together in prayer, even when we may be a world apart.
We pray for families living with PTSD, please help us lean into You a little more. Help us walk each step with confidence, knowing You are guiding and protecting us. And when the path feels heavy, remind us to pause and look for a spot of joy—a moment that lightens the load and adds light to our spirit.
Thank You for Your deep love and unfailing wisdom. Have a beautiful day, God. Amen!
Have a beautiful day y'all!
All My Love,
Jen
