Psalm 19:1
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands"
As I consider this scripture, I cannot help, but see a choir of angels dressed in long white flowing gowns with golden sashes and beautiful golden trumpets and horns, circling around our Lord joyfully singing. Their voices all in tune to the melodious chimes as they ring out.
I love the resonant tone of church bells as they ring out on a Sunday morning, while others are more fond of the chiming of smaller delicate bells. Calling us, welcoming us in.
As we look towards the heavens we see how God’s love surrounds us day and night. It’s evident in the world around us. In the rising of the sun each morning and the reflection of the moon at night. The stars at night, dancing in the moonlight, or else shining steady.
I remember once on Christmas Eve my grandparents bought a whole bunch of fireworks for us to pop. We all went out into the field and stood. The vastness of the space alone made it feel wondrous, but as we began to send the fireworks up we wondered if we could catch a glimpse of Santa with his reindeer. We never saw him, but oooh the excitement and joy we experienced that night as we wondered and waited.
There were no angels singing that night. Only us and I am fairly certain God heard our chorus. “O Come All Ye Faithful, joyful and triumphant…” “Silent Night, Hoooly Night all is calm…” Though we lit up the night sky with fireworks, in our hearts you could hear a calm whisper back “And to all a goodnight.” As I look back, I realize it wasn’t the joyfulness of Santa, but of our Maker that lit up our hearts.
Take a moment to breathe in God’s calm whisper, sit with Him a while. Then write down what you hear in the whisper.
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for whispering words of love and affirmation into our souls. Thank you for giving us moments of peace even in chaos and surrounding us with your love day and night. Love you God. Have a beautiful day!. Amen.
Y'all have a beautiful one!
All My Love,
Jen
