More Than Enough

During a phone call with a student who was struggling to write an essay for our course she said she had not read the literature, but as I visited with her longer I learned she came to the live lesson, listened to the audio version of the text, and reviewed the notes that I provided about the text. She had done so much more than read. She had listened, engaged with the material and topics, and understood what the story was about. I reminded her there are often other ways to accomplish a task; for some reading looks different, especially when dyslexia or dysgraphia is involved. While she believed she had “not done the work,” the truth was she had gone above and beyond in a way that honored her learning style and needs. She had done enough.
Sometimes we sell ourselves short because we measure ourselves against standards that were not designed for us. God doesn’t use a narrow yardstick though. He sees our heart. He knows our effort, the courage that it took, the battles that we fought, the perseverance that it took to get to where we are. Fortunately, He also provides us with friends and family, our greatest allies who allow God to work through them without even realizing it.
God does not limit us to conventional methods. He meets us where we are in the reading, in the brainstorming, in the work and whispered prayers. He helps us navigate our journey with a GPS specifically designed for us, providing us with ideas and routes that might look like we took a wrong turn, but soon we realize the turn we took is exactly what put us on the right track and can sometimes lead to some of our greatest blessings. Though our path may look different when we consistently show up for Him, He is there lovingly guiding us, encouraging us through ways that may seem unconventional, but are exactly what we need.
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for the reminder that we are more than enough. Thank you for guiding our journey and filling our tanks to overflow. Let me be Your voice of encouragement for someone today. Let them hear You through me. Thank you so much Lord. Have a beautiful day! Amen.
Y'all have a beautiful one!
All My Love,
Jen
