God visited us today.
He sat down right beside me.
He brightened my day.
He wasn’t dressed as a stranger.
He looked at me with a smile
And, I knew this would be a game changer.
He stood and stretched His arm towards me.
“Come dance with me” He said.
We waltzed and took our time.
I saw there were others standing in line.
I said “Thank you for your time.”
He said, “I am in no hurry.
This is where I want to be.”
I said “Thank you God! I am so glad you danced with me.”
“Let me get you a drink.” He said.
“I can see that you’re thirsty and need to think.
It’s all going to be okay
I will always be here.” He said.
“That line of people that you see
It is true they are here to see me.
And, one by one we will dance
A slightly different tune.
Each one a slightly different step.
For now though, you are here with me
And, I cherish this time with you beyond eternity.
Thank you for coming to dance me.”
