A small giggle escapes, as I think about how much I love jumping into the day dancing, singing, and whistling. It is perhaps my most favorite way to greet the day.
Such joy, such excitement, such freedom, and release.
I do not wake every day like this, but most days. It is a blessing I suppose, but I really think it is because I made up my mind one day --- I do not know when it happened exactly --- to be excited about the day.
Our Lord asks us to come to him with songs of joy in our heart and I suppose that might have something to do with it.
Dancing, singing, and whistling require you to stand or sit upright and pull from your core. There's something about that tightening and strength that grounds me.
Dancing requires a balance – which I love – a coordination – I have yet, to master – yet, I have fun! I have done this since I was young. Dancing circles and circles around my bedroom and now in the kitchen and living room.
Singing --- how I love to sing, especially in the mornings. I do not know all the words and my tune is kinda off, but my goodness I love it! To my husband I sing “Got a moose…Got a moose” It’s in Bohemian Rhapsody, I promise. 😉
And, whistling --- It is such a natural part of me, I do not even realize I do it most of the time. It is truly my outlet and my check-in mechanism. When I start whistling loudly and several times during the day, I know it’s time to pay attention to what is going on inside of me– a quick review of the last day or two and quick glance at my “To Do” list usually help me to identify what I need to visit or revisit.
My goodness, how I smile when I think of jumping into the day dancing, singing, and whistling. It’s so fun ya’ll!
