Small Habits

“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” Philippians 4:13.

I have been thinking about how small steps can add up since I started reading “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. I probably should read one page per day of that book considering I started it in October. I would be done by now.

I have since started reading “Coronation Year”  by Jennifer Robson. I finished “Release” by Bridgette Reed this past week. It’s a 90 day devotional, I started in January this year. And, a few others sit on my bookshelf, read in bits and pieces.

My point here is that small habits, that we sometimes see as unimportant or meaningless, if done day after day, can add up in valuable ways.

Hugging your child everyday. That’s 365 days of hugs over a year or 6,570 by the time they’re 18.

Saying “I love you” to your spouse. That’s 365 “I love you’s” in a year or 18,250 over the course of a 50 year marriage.

Now, that’s a lotta hugs and “I love you’s” and they only take a second to do.

2023 we appreciate you! 2024 we can’t wait to meet you!

Ya’ll have a beautiful New Year!

All My Love,
