Delight in Your Spouse
1 Peter 3:7: In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God's gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.
In the same way that God delights in us, it is also important to delight in our spouse. With all the day-to-day activities and obligations that we have, finding space to share our joy with our spouse can at times be difficult.
We can fall into places where we think we have to get it all done or that we don’t need help which can cause us to lose joy for ourselves, the task, and our spouse. During these times it is important to remember that your spouse is there to compliment you, to help you, to take care of you.
Maybe it’s just with:
A small glass of ice water.
A moment of interruption to hear a joke or watch a funny video.
A kind word.
A thoughtful gesture to help.
A prayer
Or maybe it is just simply their presence in love. Whatever small action, remember that it is okay to breathe in and grow in joy together.
